Golfers will trade their traditional colours for shades of pink as the Swing for Hope Monthly Medal combines competitive golf, breast cancer screening and community engagement in support of breast cancer awareness.
The special tournament, scheduled for Saturday, 31 October 2026, will bring golfers and supporters together for a day dedicated to promoting early detection, raising awareness and encouraging conversations about breast cancer.
Held as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the event will use golf as a platform to draw attention to one of the most significant health challenges affecting women worldwide, while highlighting the importance of regular screening and early diagnosis.
Golf with a purpose
Beyond the competition, Swing for Hope will feature breast cancer screening services and a golf clinic, providing participants with an opportunity to engage in both health awareness activities and the sport.
Golfers are encouraged to dress in shades of pink, the internationally recognised colour of breast cancer awareness, in a show of solidarity with those affected by the disease.
The tournament will also provide an opportunity for golfers of different abilities to come together, reinforcing the social and community spirit associated with monthly medal competitions.
Promoting awareness through sport
Breast cancer awareness campaigns traditionally gain prominence in October, with organisations and communities around the world using the month to promote education, screening and support for those affected.
Swing for Hope brings that message to the golfing community, demonstrating how sporting events can contribute to broader public health conversations.
The inclusion of breast cancer screening alongside the tournament is particularly significant, offering an opportunity to encourage participants and supporters to take a more proactive approach to their health.

Participation in the Swing for Hope Monthly Medal costs GH₵250, which includes lunch.

With competitive golf, health screening and community engagement forming the core of the programme, Swing for Hope aims to make the October Monthly Medal an occasion that extends beyond the fairways.
The event carries a simple message: every opportunity to raise awareness matters, and every swing can help bring attention to the importance of breast cancer prevention and early detection.
